OVERLAND PARK & OLATHE, Kan. – September 03, 2026 – Heartland Soccer Association, the largest youth soccer league and tournament host in the United States, will welcome 130 teams to the Kansas City metro this Labor Day weekend for the Heartland Midwest Classic, presented by Prairiefire.
The three-day tournament takes place Sept. 4–6 at the Scheels Overland Park Soccer Complex and Garmin Olathe Soccer Complex, bringing players, coaches and families to the area for a full weekend of competition. The event is expected to generate an estimated $2.2 million in economic impact for the Kansas City region.
Prairiefire continues its partnership with Heartland Soccer as the title sponsor of the Heartland Midwest Classic, supporting an event that brings youth soccer teams and families from throughout the Midwest to the Kansas City area.

Media are invited to cover the event, which begins Friday, Sept. 4, at 5:30 p.m., with games continuing Saturday and Sunday beginning at 8 a.m.
Following the Heartland Midwest Classic, Heartland Soccer will continue its fall tournament season with the Midwest All Boys and Midwest All Girls tournaments, followed by the Children’s Mercy Heartland Invitational Girls and Boys tournaments.
